Percocet Detox & addiction Treatment Programs in Alberta
When it comes to getting treated for a Percocet addiction in Alberta, an addict’s options are very limited. Alberta’s current drug rehabilitation resources are embarrassingly limited.
A perfect example of just how bad the current situation is can be seen when an individual looks at the residential drug rehabilitation facilities in Alberta. There is already a great deal of debate about the effectiveness of the standard twenty-eight day programs. Experts feel that twenty-eight days is barely enough time of the addict’s body to completely rid itself of the percocet residue. Alberta currently has so many residents that are in need of percocer detox and rehab, that they have been forced to shorten the amount of time a person spends the residential program. The current amount of time the average addict will stay in the residential program is twenty-one days. While shortening the program allows more Albertans to get treatment, they are getting significantly less counseling and will most likely start using Percocet again.
Until conditions improve and more government run residential drug rehabilitation programs are created, it is in the best interest of most people who are addicted to Percocet or another prescription to consider the advantages of a privately funded program. The private programs run longer and there is a much better staff patient ratio. These two things combine to increase the potential effectiveness of the program.
There are two types of rehabilitation programs that Percocet addicts can choose from. Some addicts find that programs that make use of traditional rehabilitation techniques are the best answer. For other addicts, the best programs are the ones that use holistic techniques which include diet and massage.
When the Percocet addict has completed a Percocet detox program they should enroll in one of Alberta’s residential rehab programs where they will get additional counseling that will help them juggles the demands of the real world with the temptation to start taking Percocet again.
