And alcohol was the cause of almost 90,000 cases of hospitalizations between the years 2003 and 2007. For the second criminal offense of that kind, your license will get suspended for 3 years. The second offense is only considered the second one if it is within ten years of the first offense. And if the offender commits a drunk driving offense breaking the Criminal Code, his license could get suspended indefinitely, depending on the court’s decision.
