One of the most telltale signs of a person who is using cocaine is redness around the nostrils and the tendency to sniff a lot. This is because as the cocaine is snorted it also irritates the nostrils and begins to break down the hairs and lining of the nose. Another obvious sign is that the person will be fidgety, and easily agitated if they are not allowed to move a lot. They will move in short bursts of energy, followed by small series of rest. Cocaine addicts will also begin to show signs of depression, mood swings, and loss of responsibility. Many things will begin to lapse like hygiene, job, school, family, and anything else that is required of them. They will also begin to lose weight at an alarming rate. The nature of cocaine makes stimulates the body in such a way that the person loses any appetite that they may have.

Other signs are a rather disheveled look about them along with some paraphernalia that is associated with cocaine users. Small razor blades, pocket mirrors, white powder on their clothes, their face, or in their car. A lot of rolled-up bills as well as small tubes with covers for keeping packets of cocaine in are also signs that the person may be using cocaine. When you notice these types of indicators, either in the person, or with their surroundings, you should intervene as quickly as you can. The longer the addiction is allowed to reign in the person's life; the more damage will be done to them.
