Crack Cocaine Addiction Rehab Centers Grand Prairie, Crack Detox Programs, Grand Prairie, AB

With a recent article the people in Grande Prairie can rest a little easier. The streets of Grande Prairie are 21 alleged drug dealers lighter following a massive attack on organized trafficking by Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) and Grande Prairie RCMP.

It is the culmination of a month-long investigation. With the arrests of 20 adults and one youth, and two search warrants, roughly $20,000 in drugs were seized, including 3.7 kilos of marijuana, 50 grams of cocaine, 19 ecstasy tabs, 22.5 grams of psilocybin and 20 tabs of ADHD drugs.

"We feel this will significantly disrupt some of the street-level organizations selling crack cocaine, and other drugs, in the city," said ALERT Sgt. Grant Bulford, head of the local serious and organized crime unit. Bulford said half-a-dozen of those arrested belong to one group in particular. "It is a group in Grande Prairie that we are well aware of ... They have been a concern for us," he said.

Two rifles, a police-style baton, $2,000 in cash, a 2001 Dodge Neon, 1998 Dodge Avenger, 2004 Dodge Neon SX200 and a 2007 Lexus were also seized. Each of the men arrested in the raid will appear in Grande Prairie courtrooms in November and December. Bulford said most are people police were aware of.

"In some instances we're just aware of a phone number that's being used," he said. "We don't necessarily know who's going to be working that phone that particular time ... Most often we know who we're dealing with, but sometimes we get a surprise ... The level we were targeting was street level, so the amounts are not significant but they are frequent and we did execute a couple of search warrants and we seized some larger quantities."
