AADAC Youth Services - Calgary
The AADAC Youth Services established in Calgary is a program made for the teenagers between the age of 12 and 17 years old. First of all, there is an assessment made with each new patient in order to establish exactly what they need. Then the addict has three choices, either he goes through detoxification, outpatient treatment or residential drug rehab treatment. The detoxification lasts seven to ten days usually. The residential treatment and the outpatient day treatment both last around three months. Both of them contain counselling sessions and education on drug and alcohol addiction. The AADAC Youth Services also offer a family program to help the entire family deal with addiction. There is also a four-week information program on teenagers and drugs and alcohol to help them understand the whole cycle better.
