Manitoba Percocet Addiction Rehabilitation Treatment and Detox Centers

Even though Manitoba is currently experiencing an increase in drug and alcohol addictions, the number of citizens who are addicted to prescription drugs like Percocet are still limited. That does not mean that if a person is struggling with a Percocet addiction that they cannot get help. The resources are available; the addict just needs to know where to go.

One of the things the addict needs to know is that if they try to cut themselves form Percocet cold turkey the withdrawal experiences are going to be far more intense than if they go through the process very gradually. Drug rehabilitation experts in Manitoba suggest that the addict approach their doctor and have them help create a plan that will gradually decrease their dependency on the Percocet.

When the doctor feels that it is safe, they will recommend that the addict be admitted into a detoxification program in Manitoba where the staff will watch over them while their body rids themselves of the remaining traces of Percocet. The chances are really good that the individual will experience some symptoms of withdrawal. The severity of the symptoms and the amount of time it takes to completely detoxify depends on the how much Percocet the person takes on a daily basis.

When the staff at the Manitoba detoxification program decides that the person is ready, the addict will be sent to one of the residential drug rehabilitation programs in Manitoba. This is most often a twenty-eight day program where the person goes through a great deal of both group and individual counseling sessions where the addict will discover the underlying cause of their addiction and also develop the skills they are going to need if they hope to live a Percocet free life when they have completed the residential program.

When the addict has completed the residential program, they should plan on enrolling in one of Manitoba’s outpatient program where they will receive additional counseling.
