Narcotics Anonymous Closed Meetings

Narcotics Anonymous closed meetings are made only for drug addicts. People like family members or professionals not part of Narcotics Anonymous are not allowed to attend. But it also allows potential drug addicts to see whether or not they are addicts and need help; this can help them join Narcotics Anonymous is they need to.

It gives freedom to the drug addicts attending to go over the really personal things that have to do with their drug addiction with only fellow NA members. A lot of people are embarrassed or worried about speaking of their private matters in front of other, non-members. The fact that these meetings are only between NA members provides a special atmosphere which can be very helpful, especially for newcomers. A lot of recovering addicts find it nice to talk to other members, as they are sure that everybody, they are talking to will be able to identify with what they’re saying.

Another big point to having closed NA meetings is that the NA members who have been there for a long can share their experience, give advice with what they have done to help them through. This gives strength and hope to the addicts who are still struggling with getting clean. Closed meeting are the best way for drug addicts to feel no pressure at all about saying what they feel and can at the same time get help from other addicts.
