Religious Treatment for Drugs and Alcohol Addiction
Drug Rehab Services is a no-cost referral agency in Canada for drug and alcohol addiction. We have helped thousands of persons achieving a drug-free life through detox and drug rehabs.
Our goal is to provide you the best advice possible for drug rehab clinics so you or a loved one gets a drug-free life. We are not specialized on religious treatment, but we can refer to a few places that help people spiritually to get through their drugs and alcohol addiction.
Religious-Based Approach
Religious treatments or programs are faith-based approaches where the individual is put back in contact with either god, the Christ and/or the Bible. The main purpose of the treatment is to heal, restore, and restore his harmony with God, family, and to one's own dignity and self-esteem. There are different religions that help their parishioners with drugs and alcohol addiction such as Christian, Jewish, Catholic, etc.
Some religions will have residential facilities where the person gets to be admitted for a full treatment which normally includes medical staff, etc. Another will have a rabbi, priest who the person gets counseling from. It is on a more outpatient based. The success rate of such a program cannot be identified, and we never found any real study on how successful these types of treatments are.
Christian Based Programs
These types of drug and alcohol rehabs are based on the Christian religion, and they often include the family as part of the treatment. They will mainly do prayers, meditation; some group process, lectures on the twelve steps
(part of AA or NA), Lectures on addiction and study of the Bible.
Usually the first week will go over steps 1 and 2.
Week 2 covers Steps 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Week 3 covers Steps 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
Week 4 concludes the Christian 12 Steps with 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.
