Marijuana Rehab Treatment in Vancouver, BC

Marijuana abuse and addiction are major problems around the world. They affect people of every race, color, and economic class. While the United States war on drugs has gained major attention, it’s not the only country battling this growing problem. The city of Vancouver, British Columbia decided in 2005 that they needed to come up with a firm policy to prevent people from becoming addicted to a wide variety of drugs that often starts with marijuana abuse.

The first step of their plan is prevention. Among their goals is to reduce the amount of individuals that use marijuana, reduce the rate of new cases as well as the number of current substance drug users, and improve overall public health and safety.

By successfully reducing the amount of people that begin using marijuana, the need for marijuana rehab, drug treatment programs, and drug rehab centers will be reduced as well. This will free up funds and programs for other health needs for all citizens. It is generally believed that people make the best decisions for their life, but once marijuana and other drugs enter the picture, it changes a person’s priorities causing them to make poor decisions for themselves.

Prevention is perhaps the most difficult way to handle marijuana abuse and addiction problem for Vancouver. It requires all members of the community to commit to one single goal and work together to achieve it. While this is a difficult path for marijuana addiction prevention, it will have the most impact on the future of marijuana abuse in the city.
