Solstice Integrated Wellness Centre is a structured, immersive residential recovery and support program for youth located in Clairmont / Grande Prairie, Alberta, operated by Mountain Plains Community Services Society of the North. Designed for adolescents up to age 18, the program helps young people experiencing addiction and mental health challenges engage in meaningful change through focused education, coping skills development, and supportive therapeutic engagement.
A Two-Week Residential Experience Where Recovery Is Lived
Solstice offers a structured 14-day residential intervention that places young participants in a supportive living environment where daily programming combines counselling, group learning, and personal reflection. This immersive experience allows participants to step away from high-risk contexts and focus on personal growth, emotional regulation, and recovery-oriented skill building.
Youth-Focused Support That Addresses Addiction and Mental Health
Solstice is tailored to youths managing a range of concerns, including substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, emotion regulation challenges, self-harm, and eating disorders, within a care framework that blends structured therapeutic and educational activities. Individual counselling, family support services, and experiential group learning are integrated to help participants build resilience and healthier coping mechanisms.
Practical Skills, Reflection, and Community Connection
Throughout the program, participants engage in guided personal reflection, high-risk behaviour education, and skill development that emphasize real-world application of recovery strategies. The centre also facilitates referrals and introductions to appropriate community supports to maintain continuity of care after the residential experience. Family involvement and spiritual and cultural activities are woven into the recovery journey.
Accessible Youth Recovery Support in Northwest Alberta
Solstice works in partnership with Alberta Health Services and accepts both voluntary participation and court-mandated referrals (e.g., Protection of Children Abusing Drugs stabilization programs). Licensed and monitored under Alberta’s health services standards, the centre provides a safe and supportive setting where young people can begin rebuilding stability and confidence.
A Community-Centered Path for Adolescents Ready to Change
The Solstice Integrated Wellness Centre suits families and adolescents seeking a short-term, intensive residential recovery opportunity that balances clinical insight with personal growth and educational support. Its focus on coping skills, reflection, and community connection offers a pathway toward healthier choices and long-term youth well-being beyond the two-week program.
