Sophia Recovery Centre’s Kennebecasis Valley site is a non-residential recovery support centre for women whose alcohol, drug or other addictive behaviours have affected daily functioning, relationships, or wellbeing. Part of a larger network of Sophia locations across southern New Brunswick, this centre provides community-based, peer-anchored recovery resources and programming that help women build healthier patterns, coping skills and social support while living at home.
Peer Mentoring, Workshops and Wellness Activities Within Everyday Life
At the Kennebecasis Valley office, serving Quispamsis, Rothesay and surrounding areas, women can access one-on-one peer mentoring, group workshops, social and wellness activities, and recovery-oriented events that encourage connection, resilience and ongoing skill building. Workshops include topics such as relapse prevention, trauma healing, mindfulness and creative activities that support emotional growth. All services are offered free of charge thanks to community funding and donations.
Open House and Drop-In Engagement That Fits Daily Routines
Sophia’s outpatient model includes Open House hours where women can drop in for coffee, peer connection and gentle support, making it easier to seek help without disrupting work, family or other commitments. The centre also partners with local counsellors to provide barrier-free mental health support when needed.
A Supportive Community Network With Multiple Southern NB Sites
The Kennebecasis Valley location is part of Sophia’s growing network, including sites in Saint John, Charlotte County, Kennebecasis Valley and Sussex, that brings recovery-oriented support and peer connection to women across the region. Its community-anchored approach helps women integrate recovery work into everyday life while building accountability and supportive relationships.
