Lydia Home Women’s Recovery is a residential addiction recovery program for women in Mission, BC, operated by Union Gospel Mission (UGM). It’s a live-in setting where women whose substance use, and the life disruption tied to it, has already begun affecting work, family roles, housing stability, or emotional wellbeing can stay for about six to twelve months while working deeply on recovery within a supportive, structured community.
A Residential Beginning When Life Is Unsteady
Women typically enter Lydia Home after repeated attempts to manage substance use on their own haven’t held and the consequences are already showing up in the life they’re still living: unstable routines, strained relationships, or ongoing setbacks. The program creates a stable, predictable daily environment where participants can step out of old triggers and begin focusing on meaningful change with peers and staff.
Daily Life Grounded in Support and Personal Insight
At Lydia Home, recovery is built into everyday living. Residents work with a counsellor to develop a personal recovery roadmap and engage in trauma-informed counselling, group support, relapse-prevention planning, and routines that build healthier habits and insight. The program also incorporates a biblically based, 12-Step framework, helping participants explore the roots of their substance use and build tools that support long-term recovery.
Preparing for What Comes Next
Beyond the core residential phase, Lydia Home offers aftercare support that helps women maintain gains once they transition out: staff assist with finding safe housing, accessing education or employment opportunities, and staying connected to supportive networks, helping recovery work continue in the life they’re still living.
For Women Ready to Live Recovery Every Day
This program often resonates with women who know their substance use has already interrupted key areas of life and who need a sustained, structured residential environment where recovery is practiced through daily routines, community support, and reflection.
