Westover Treatment Centre is accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation and offers a number of programs for those affected by the disease of addiction. Westover has twenty-four beds funded by the Ministry of Health for the Substance Use Disorder program, six funded beds for the Co-Dependency program and 8 funded beds for the Stage Two Recovery and Relapse Prevention program. Treatment is followed by the Recovery Support program which provides weekly classes for 26 weeks following the residential program and is offered in twelve different communities. In all of the residential programs there are a few additional beds available on a private pay basis, with a much shorter wait list. Westover also offers a weekend family program available to family and friends of clients in residence upon the client’s invitation for them to attend. Westover’s programs are educational with classroom work throughout the day in addition to individual counselling. Included are classes on the disease of addiction, 12-step recovery, understanding behaviours, setting boundaries, anger management and avoiding relapse amongst many other topics. Services offered include the residential programs outlined above, Recovery Support and a 24/7 Addiction Assistance telephone line answered by a certified counsellor. Westover does not offer a withdrawal management program.
