About this center

Wolastoqewiyik Healing Lodge is a residential addiction recovery program rooted in clinical care and traditional Indigenous knowledge and teachings. It offers a structured, supervised setting where adults work through alcohol and drug use challenges by combining therapeutic counselling, group sessions, cultural learning, and personal growth activities, helping participants build insight, coping skills, accountability, and healthier routines within an immersive environment.

A Structured Residential Pathway With Therapeutic Depth

Participants at Wolastoqewiyik Healing Lodge follow a planned recovery program that includes scheduled counselling, group work, and activities designed to help them better understand themselves and the patterns underlying their substance use. The program encourages honest engagement and commitment from the start, with recovery work closely integrated into daily life on site.

Holistic Healing That Blends Clinical and Cultural Insight

While grounded in evidence-informed addiction support, the centre also honours traditional teachings and Indigenous perspectives, creating a setting where cultural identity and community values inform the healing process alongside psychological and behavioural recovery work. Residents participate in group and one-on-one sessions that address both addiction and personal development.

A Community Environment Focused on Lasting Change

Wolastoqewiyik’s model positions recovery within ongoing residential life, emphasizing structured routine, mutual support among participants, and active involvement in all scheduled activities as part of rebuilding stability and resilience. This immersive approach helps people cultivate personal responsibility and coping strategies that support lasting wellbeing beyond treatment.
