Ask a Professional

  • What is an intervention?

Family intervention is a process that can help motivate an addict to seek help for their drug or alcohol misuse. Family and friends come together with the help of a professional interventionist to confront the addict and convince them to attend treatment.

  • Is hiring a professional interventionist beneficial?

Yes, hiring a professional family interventionist is beneficial. These are trained and qualified professionals that guide a family through the interventionist process. In addition, they act as the mediator and help the family plan the entire intervention.

  • Do family interventions work?

Yes, they work, and it is the best opportunity for family and friends to convince their loved ones they need help. It works because the addict is left with no other choice but to accept help or face the consequences. The consequences are determined before the intervention and during the planning process. It is the best way to help the addict understand they need treatment.

  • What does hiring a professional interventionist cost?

The cost varies, but generally, it can range between $2,500 and $5,000. There is a lot that goes into the intervention process. A family interventionist spends a significant amount of time working with the family to address things like enabling and co-dependency. They have specific training and qualifications to manage any severity of the addiction.
