Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Drug Rehab Centers
The city of Saskatoon has a large Aboriginal population and is a university city with a population of over 240.000 people. Some of the commonly abused drugs within the province and in the city include crystal meth, alcohol, and crack cocaine. Some prescription-drug problems and issues with opioids have been a problem, but not as prevalent as it is other parts of Canada. Saskatoon is a city filled with blue-collared professionals who are miffed with problems like drug addiction and excessive alcohol drinking. Initially, the only major problem in this town was that most of its residents only succumbed to the evils of drinking. However, in the past few years, there has been a rise in the number of drug addicts and drug-related criminal activates as well. It is a joint effort of various institutions and health clinics to curb this mess that this beautiful city is undergoing. Saskatoon being the 17th largest city in Canada has developed into a culture where drugs and alcohol are easily available. Another situation contributing to it is the economic downturn where several have lost their jobs; as a result, most have turned to the easiest like drug peddling where there is quick money. This, in turn, has also increased the crime activity in the city, whenever police have made any drug seizures, weapons have been seized along with these illicit drugs. The people of Saskatoon have seen a huge number of their people falling prey to vices like drug addiction and alcoholism. Usage of drugs like prescription medicines, crystal meth, crack, marijuana, heroin, etc. are all sold here rampantly. Crimes such as prostitution, assaults, murders, attacks, robberies, etc. are also on the rise. It is, therefore, imperative that the situation is kept under control. The situation is grave, and the current number of rehabs is not enough to take care of the increase in drug addicts and alcoholics. However, the current rehabs that are functional are presently doing their best to curb the situation and get things under control.
